Research

My research explores how shifting climates impact disturbance regimes and ecosystems recover after disturbances. I work with both the Dynamic Vegetation Model LPJ-GUESS and low-dimensional stochastic models, as well as observational data from field campaigns and satellites. My work combines fundamental theoretical questions, for example regarding uncertainty propagation in stochastic systems, with highly applied collaborations with land managers such as the U.S. National Park Service.
