Hi, I am Lucia, a climate impact scientist currently based at UC Berkeley.   My research sits at the intersection of climate impact modeling, fire ecology, and stochastic systems. I develop and work with numerical models of varying complexity, combining them with observational records from long-term monitoring, field campaigns, and satellite data. My work spans a wide range of geographies, focusing on boreal, Mediterranean, and arid ecosystems.   I aim to inform strategies for climate adaptation and ecological resilience. To this end, I collaborate closely with land managers in U.S. National Parks across the Western US, developing scenario planning tools for post-fire recovery and climate adaptation.   I strongly believe in open source and open science.
